Love Story vol 2.

I need to train my man to tighten the two semi corset parts for me...

"I love to create simple yet flirty pieces for very feminine,
sensual women with elegance",
says Yukiko.

20 meters of tulle and taffeta was needed for the rose petals.

Yukiko's favorite designers are Philip Treacy, Elie Saab, Marchesa and Dior.
For me, judging by her style, she's the long lost niece of Oscar de la Renta!
I was also kinda fascinated to know, that Yukiko has interned for
my favorite Mexican designer Gianfranco Reni.

So, you remember the pink beauty on the CECC catwalk I showed you in the end of the last post?

Yeah, so after the show I went home, washed my face, patted my dogs and man and all that... But I just couldn't forget the beautiful, oh-so-Carrie-Bradshaw-like dress. Unfortunately all I knew about the designer was that (s)he was one of the students of Fashion Design at CECC...

So, like at midnight I whatsapped to Becky (who among all the other million and half fashion related tasks, happens to be professor at the CECC) to ask if she thinks it would be appropriate to:

1. Find out who the designer is

2. Beg her/him to sell the unique piece to me

Kind as always, Becky promised to talk to the head of Fashion Design department at CECC and call me if something pops up.

Two days later I got a call from Yukiko Uscanga, just about 20-year old designer student and designer of the lovely dress. She suggested us to meet next Friday for a fitting, a little talk and a brief photo shoot with her, Becky and the head professor of fashion design department at CECC. 

The dress turned out to be just as I remembered, and even more! 

Sure, it needs to be taken in from the bust and somebody broke it's zipper during the fashion show's chaos, but those will be fixed. The most amazing thing is that the dress really is a unique piece, now made to fit my measurements. I mean, I'll love it to death!

I learned my lesson quite well here: never ever underestimate the talent of the kids today! Yukiko told me that the dress was originally made for Magnum Pink&Black Fashion Contest that was held during CMN Trade Show that I also attended. Unfortunately I was then so stupid, that I left just before the Magnum Contest, thinking: "Yeah, I don't care for some teenager-made pseudo hipster stuff"...

I D I O T !

So...I totally suggest everyone to go and assist the next design school fashion show near you and pick the best ones to your closet before they get famous...

Muistattehan sen vaaleanpunaisen kermakakku-unelman viime postauksen lopusta?

No, en kertakaikkiaan saanut sitä mielestäni muotinäytöksestä kotiin palattuani. Valitettavasti mulla ei ollut hajuakaan kuka puvun takana oli, sen tiedonmurusen lisäksi, että tekijä lienee yksi muotisuunnittelun opiskelijoista. 

Joskus keskiyöllä lopulta tekstasin Beckylle, joka (tuhannen muun muotialan hommansa lisäksi) sattuu olemaan näytöksen järjestäneellä koululla proffana. Hän lupasi ystävällisesti ottaa selvää kontaktiensa kautta, kuka puvun suunnittelija on, ja saisiko häntä taivuteltua myymään teoksensa.

Pari päivää sitten soi puhelin. Langan toisessa päässä oli Yukiko Uscangi, nippanappa parikymppinen opiskelijatyttönen, kermakakku-unelmani suunnittelija. Sovimme fittingistä, sovitussessiosta, jotta puku laitettaisiin sopimaan allekirjoittaneen persjalkaiseen runkoon sopivaksi sekä juttuhetkestä Yukikon, hänen suunnitteluopettajansa ja Beckyn kanssa.

Ja hittolainen! Mekko osoittautui luonnossa vieläkin ihanammaksi mitä muistin! Toki sitä pitää ottaa sisään rintamuksesta javaihtaa näytöshässäkässä rikki mennyt vetskari, mutta mitäpä pikku yksityiskohdista...

Kävi muuten ilmi, että puku oli alunperin tehty noin kuukausi sitten järjestetyille Compra Moda Nacionalin muotipäiville, josta täälläkin kirjoitin. Päivän viimeisimpänä lavalla nähtiin Magnumin spossaama Pink&Black suunnittelukilpailu, jossa Yukiko oli mukana mekollani. Niin, juuri siihen näytökseen, jonka meikämanne skippasi, vedoten siihen, että "ne on jotain teinien väsäämiä pseudo-hipsterisäkkejä kuitenkin" .

V*tun juntti! Älkää te tehkö sama erhettä, vaan hakeutukaa rohkeasti lähimmän taidekoulun oppilaien näyöksiin ja poimikaa parhaat kaappiinne, ennenkuin näistä lapsista tulee jotain todella suurta!
